Q3 Field guide

New to the genre? Pack these five tips.

Adventure and RPG games reward a little prep. Here's how our crew gets the most out of every download — no spoilers, just smoother runs.

1

Start free, then commit

Try a free-to-start pick like Postknight 2 to learn the rhythm before paying for a deeper premium quest.

2

Read the combat tutorial twice

Action-RPGs hide depth in dodges and cooldowns. Five extra minutes early saves dozens of avoidable deaths later.

3

Embrace the roguelike loop

In Wayward Souls or Death Road, dying is progress. Each run unlocks gear, characters or knowledge for the next.

4

Mind battery & offline play

Many picks run offline — perfect for the bus. Drop brightness and cap the frame-rate to stretch a long session.

5

Check the price & region

We list current CAD pricing, but stores update fast. Tap through to confirm on the Canadian App Store before you buy.

Q5 Milestones

Badges worth chasing.

Little victories the genre quietly rewards. Here are eight our crew goes after on every new quest — see how many you can collect before the credits roll.

Common

First Boss Down

Survived your first proper showdown and lived to tell the tale around the campfire.

Rare

100% Map

Every fog tile cleared and not a single corner left unexplored. Cartographers rejoice.

Common

Sunrise Session

One sitting, one sunrise, zero regrets — the classic just-one-more-quest spiral.

Epic

No-Hit Hero

Cleared a whole dungeon without taking a single scratch. Absolute show-off.

Rare

Loot Hoarder

Every chest cracked and every drop pocketed. The bags are full and the wallet is heavy.

Rare

Full Party

Recruited and finished with the whole roster at your side — nobody left on the bench.

Epic

Speed Demon

Rolled the credits before the kettle finished boiling. Efficiency is its own reward.

Legendary

Quest Complete

Reached the end of a story actually worth finishing. The rarest badge of them all.

Q6 Party reviews

What the party is saying.

Twelve notes from readers who tried this season's roster. Lightly edited for length, never for sentiment.

"Postknight 2 became my whole commute. Bite-sized runs but the gear chase is real — I finished a whole class tree before I noticed three weeks had passed."

Q7 Quest brief

Questions before you set out.

Everything new adventurers ask, in one place. Tap a question to unfurl the answer.

Is QuestAnoEra a store? Can I buy games here?
No. We're an independent fan-review hub. We don't sell or host games — every "View" button sends you to the official Canadian App Store listing, where Apple handles the download and any purchase.
How do you choose which games to feature?
We actually play each title — usually to the end or well past the early hours — before it earns a spot. We favour finished, fairly-priced adventure, quest and RPG games over hype. No developer can pay for placement.
Are the prices and ratings accurate?
Ratings come from the public App Store data at the time we built the roster, and prices are shown in CAD. Stores change often, so always confirm the live price and rating on the listing before you buy.
Do you earn commission from these links?
If we ever join an affiliate programme we'll disclose it clearly on this page and in our Terms. Right now the links are plain store links and our rankings stay independent either way.
What is a QuestScore?
QuestScore is our simple 0–100 blend of a game's live store rating and how often readers tell us they stuck with it. It's a friendly starting point, not a scientific metric.
Can I suggest a game or correct a detail?
Please do. Use the contact form below or email [email protected]. We read every message and update listings when something changes.

Still stuck? Send the crew a raven and we'll help you pick your next quest.

A controller and the glow of a screen — quiet evening gaming
Q8 Our party

A small Ottawa crew with good taste in quests.

QuestAnoEra started in 2021 as a group chat where four friends swapped the adventure games actually worth finishing. It grew into this little hub: honest write-ups, real store links, and a refusal to recommend anything we haven't played ourselves.

We don't chase release-day hype or pad lists for traffic. If a game wastes your evening or your dollars, it won't make the roster — simple as that.
